Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking a Site Engineer - Project Controls to support major civil construction works across Australia and New Zealand. You will translate field activity into accurate programme, productivity and cost information, working with the Project Manager and site teams.

This role suits a Project Engineer who wants to broaden into project controls, with responsibilities in planning, cost tracking and risk management on renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree with 3-7 years' Project Engineer or Site Engineer experience across civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks or renewable energy.
• Strong practical understanding of construction delivery, with exposure to planning, progress measurement, productivity or project controls.
• Experience or an interest in cost management, forecasting, earned value management, programme controls or delay analysis.
• Strong Excel, analytical and reporting skills, with experience using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project highly regarded.
• Proactive, commercially aware and delivery-focused, with the ability to work closely with construction teams in a fast-paced site environment.
• Construction White Card and current Driver's Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support project delivery by monitoring performance against programme, budget, productivity and production targets.
• Assist with weekly planning, look-ahead schedules, progress measurement and planned-versus-actual reporting.
• Monitor labour, plant, equipment and subcontractor productivity, identifying trends, constraints and opportunities for improvement.
• Support cost tracking, forecasting, cost analysis and assessment of time and cost impacts associated with changes and variations.
• Track project performance and emerging risks, supporting delay analysis, mitigation and recovery planning.
• Work closely with construction, engineering, commercial and subcontractor teams to ensure accurate project information and delivery readiness.

INTEC Energy Solutions has established a dedicated Civils Division to deliver high-quality, large-scale civil infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. Backed by INTEC's global renewable energy expertise, our team is building capability across site preparation, bulk earthworks, drainage, access roads, foundations and high-voltage substation civil works.

With the division now established, we are recruiting experienced professionals to help shape our success from the ground up and support the delivery of major renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

As Site Engineer - Project Controls, you will support the delivery of major civil construction works while developing and applying your project controls capability across programme, productivity, cost and performance management.

This role would suit a Project Engineer who enjoys being close to construction and wants to broaden their experience into project controls. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and site teams to understand what is happening in the field and translate this into accurate programme, productivity and cost information.

You will help identify emerging risks, constraints and productivity issues early, providing the project team with the information needed to make informed decisions and maintain delivery performance.

About You

We are looking for a Project Engineer with strong site-based civil construction experience who is interested in developing or applying their project controls capability.
