Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions PTY Limited in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will own complex electrical concepts, coordinate with project delivery, construction teams, clients and suppliers, and ensure designs meet grid and safety standards throughout the full EPC lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' electrical engineering experience in power/renewables/infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems with grid connection exposure.
• Experience in electrical design, protection, control, metering and SCADA.
• Proficient with PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP or equivalent modelling tools.
• Strong project and construction interface skills with clients and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review electrical design deliverables for solar PV, BESS and substations.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and harmonic studies.
• Provide technical support through procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Interface between Engineering, Project Delivery, and Construction; resolve RFIs and changes.
• Support constructability, value engineering and ensure compliance with project programme.

With an established presence across Australia and New Zealand and a growing portfolio of solar, BESS and electrical infrastructure projects, we are expanding our Engineering team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of utility‑scale renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand. Based in our Brisbane office, you will work across the full project lifecycle, combining strong electrical engineering expertise with practical project and construction experience. You will take ownership of complex technical challenges, working closely with project delivery and construction teams, while engaging with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are technically sound, compliant and deliverable. If you're an experienced electrical engineer looking to move beyond design-only work and play a key role in the delivery of major renewable energy projects.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years' electrical engineering experience, ideally across power, renewables or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge across HV, MV and LV systems, with experience in solar PV, BESS, substations or power generation highly regarded.
• Experience with electrical design, protection, control, metering, SCADA, communications and grid connection requirements.
• Experience using engineering and power system modelling tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP or equivalent.
• Strong project and construction interface skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues, coordinate design changes and work effectively with clients, contractors and site teams.

What you'll be responsible for

• Lead and review electrical design deliverables across solar PV, BESS and substation projects, including HV/MV/LV systems and secondary systems.
• Undertake and review load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and harmonic studies, ensuring designs meet project and grid requirements.
• Provide technical engineering support through procurement, construction and commissioning, including technical specifications, supplier evaluations and design reviews.
• Act as a key interface between Engineering, Project Delivery and Construction, resolving RFIs, technical queries, design changes and site issues.
• Support constructability, value engineering and technical quality, ensuring designs are practical, compliant and delivered to the required project programme.
