Design & Build Recruitment in Canberra is seeking a proactive Site Engineer to take ownership on site, learn from experienced professionals and contribute to delivering quality projects across Canberra.

You will work closely with the Project Manager and Site Manager, coordinating subcontractors, planning, QA, safety and progress reporting to keep milestones on track and build your technical delivery capabilities within a collaborative team.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Previous site engineer experience in commercial construction.
• Understanding of drawings, specs and construction methods.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Manager, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day delivery of projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities to ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements.
• Assisting with project planning, scheduling and progress reporting.
• Managing quality assurance documentation, inspections and ITPs.
• Monitoring site safety and ensuring compliance with WHS requirements.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation to identify and resolve issues.
• Assisting with procurement, material orders and subcontractor coordination.
• Maintaining accurate site records, daily reports and project documentation.
• Working collaboratively with the broader project team to identify risks, resolve technical challenges and maintain project milestones.

About You

You will be a proactive and organised Site Engineer who enjoys being on site, solving problems and working as part of a delivery-focused team.

To be successful, you will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Site Engineer role within commercial construction.
• A sound understanding of construction methodologies, drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality and problem‑solving.
• The ability to coordinate multiple priorities and build effective relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• A genuine desire to develop your technical and project delivery capabilities.
• Must have valid working rights in Australia
