Job summary

Salmon Earthmoving is seeking an experienced Site Coordinator / Maintenance Planner for our coal mine site in the Bowen Basin. You’ll plan, schedule and optimise maintenance to maximise equipment availability and coordinate servicing, parts and documentation.

The role suits a trade-qualified person with mine-site maintenance planning experience, CAT equipment knowledge a plus, and a proactive approach to safety and teamwork. Full-time, 5/2 roster with on-site camp facilities.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with practical maintenance planning experience at a mine site.
• Experience planning and coordinating preventive maintenance and servicing for heavy plant.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and optimise maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability.
• Coordinate servicing, component planning and replacement parts.
• Maintain accurate documentation, work orders and preventive maintenance records.
• Monitor critical equipment issues and emerging risks.
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency and fleet reliability.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Coordinator / Maintenance Planner to join our team working at a coal mine in the Bowen Basin.

Dedicated to this site, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet going,

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and optimise all maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability
• Coordinate servicing, component planning & replacements parts.
• Maintain accurate documentation, work orders, and preventive maintenance records, ensuring quality and compliance
• Monitoring and escalation of critical equipment issues and emerging risks
• Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency & fleet reliability
• Build strong relationships and work closely with internal and external stakeholders

About You:

This position would suit someone with strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience; a trade person who wishes to stay in the industry but off the tools.

Ideal for someone who has prior experience of planning/scheduling maintenance of heavy plant machinery in a mine site environment.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment condition, monitoring and analysis.
• Strong computer skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
• A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
• Experience working on CAT equipment (highly desirable).
• Current & valid Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

The successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain a Coal Board Medical Health Assessment and Standard 11 Statement of Attainment.
