Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Short Term Maintenance Planner to join Batchfire Callide Mine, supporting the MARC contract across rear dump trucks, graders, ancillary equipment and compliance charts.

Reporting to the Project Manager – MARC, you’ll own short-term maintenance planning and scheduling, coordinating labour, parts, subcontractors and customer resources to keep maintenance on track while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance and repair.
• Extensive mining maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
• Strong knowledge of mine-site safety, environmental and legislative requirements.
• Experience with Komatsu equipment or heavy mining fleets is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.

The Opportunity

Komatsu is looking for an experienced Short Term Maintenance Planner to join our team at Batchfire Callide Mine, supporting our MARC contract across rear dump trucks, graders, ancillary equipment and compliance charts.

This is a hands-on planning role where you’ll work closely with our trades, customer and operational teams to ensure the right people, parts and resources are in the right place at the right time; keeping equipment available, productive and performing at its best.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Project Manager – MARC, you’ll take ownership of short-term maintenance planning and scheduling across the site fleet.

You’ll coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, labour, parts, subcontractors and customer resources while ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with MARC contract requirements.

You’ll be at the centre of the action—working with trades, supervisors, parts teams and the customer to solve problems, manage priorities and keep maintenance activities moving.

Role Located: Batchfire Callide Mine

Roster: Monday to Friday

What we are looking for

You’re organised, technically confident and comfortable making decisions in a busy mining environment. Most importantly, you know that great planning isn’t just about a schedule; it’s about building relationships and working with people to get the job done.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A trade qualification in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance and repair, or extensive mining maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
• An understanding of mine-site safety, environmental and legislative requirements.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
• Experience with heavy mining equipment, ideally including Komatsu 930E-4 haul trucks, GD955-7R graders, Komatsu excavators and WA1200-6 loaders.
• Experience with ancillary equipment, including light vehicles & compliance charts.
• Strong maintenance planning, scheduling and equipment reliability knowledge.
• Experience with systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, LinkOne and R&M Care.
• Previous exposure to oil analysis, RCA, continuous improvement or Komatsu parts and procurement systems will be highly regarded.
• A current driver’s licence and the ability to obtain the required Queensland coal board medical, Std 11 and site inductions.
• Post Training and qualifications in Management /Supervisory Role, S123, G2 Qualifications, would be advantageous.
