Job summary

Salmon Earthmoving is seeking experienced Machine Operators for a civil construction project on the fringe of Dalby, Queensland. The role is casual with a 2/1 roster, 12-hour days, and camp accommodation while on roster.

DIDO local candidates are encouraged to apply. Ideal applicants will have prior civil/mining experience, RII attainment for the relevant machines, a White Card, and a current Driver's Licence.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in civil or mining environments.
• RII Statement of Attainment for relevant machine is essential.
• White Card / Construction Induction is required.
• Current and valid Driver’s Licence is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and according to site procedures.
• Perform pre-start inspections and report faults.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and project standards.
• Collaborate with the team to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Salmon rents & supports a complete range ofCaterpillar & other heavy machinery used in mining & constructions sectors, providing high-quality plant for short- & long-term hire throughout Australia.

About The Role:

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking applications of experienced Machine Operators for a civil construction project on the fringe of Dalby.

This project offers an immediate start with an approx. 3–6-month length.

We are keen to chat to Operators who are experienced operating one or more of the following:

• Scraper
• Watercart
• Loaders
• Graders
• Excavators
• Compactors
• Other mobile plant / heavy mining equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe operation of equipment
• Complete pre-start inspections and report any mechanical faults or safety concerns
• Follow strict safety guidelines and ensure all tasks are completed to high safety standards
• Collaborate with the team to optimise efficiency and project outcomes

We anticipate you will be able to demonstrate:

• Prior experience operating in a civil or mining environment
• RII Statement of Attainment for relevant machine (essential)
• White card / general construction induction.
• Current & valid Driver’s Licence
• Strong understanding and reliability in adhering to site standards; safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
