ACLE Services is looking for an on-site HSE Advisor to join our growing construction delivery team, delivering utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across regional Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll be a trusted HSE partner to operational teams, providing practical advice and guidance, identifying and managing risk, supporting safe work practices and working collaboratively to find solutions that allow construction activities to move forward safely.
This role is available for an immediate start.

About the Role
As our HSE Advisor, you will be site-based and play a crucial role in ensuring our project works are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Your expertise will support our project teams to maintain the highest safety standards while delivering innovative solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across all construction operations through visible field leadership, coaching and engagement with employees
- Lead site inspections to ensure safety standards and regulationsare being met.
- Conduct workplace investigations and support the implementations and close-out of corrective actions
- Lead project health and safety initiatives in line with client’s HSE Manual, ACLE company policies, and state/federal regulations.
- Review and update SWMS and JSEA’sto ensure effective risk management on-site.
- Conduct risk assessmentsand enforce safety measures to prevent workplace incidents.
- Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and safety communications to build workforce capability and awareness
- Support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of HSE policies, safety operating procedures and initiatives
- Manage and oversee employee and contractor HSE induction to site ensuring contactor SWMS, Equipment and staff are compliant.
- Oversee safety audits, incident investigations, RTW and worker’s compensationclaims.
- Provide regular reports to site managementand assist with audits and compliance reviews.
- Monitor compliance and procedures, permits, risk management processes and environmental controls.
- Develop and implement emergency response plansand ensure readiness through regular drills.
- Ensure environmental compliancethrough waste management, recycling, and proper PPE usage.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate quality managementwith safety protocols.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety(minimum).
- Experienced with return-to-work practices
- 3+ yearsof experience in HSE Advisor role, preferably in the renewable energyor construction industry.
- Driver's License
- Familiarity with Brownfields environmentsand adapting safety protocols in complex operational sites.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Acts, regulations, and risk managementprinciples.
- Proficient in Microsoft Officeand safety management systemslike Sharepoint, HammerTech and Autodesk.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and influence positive safety behaviour on-site.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an eye for safety and quality.
- Experience in Solar, Battery Energy Storage, or electrical substation projects.
- Workforce Training and Assessment certification, desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC)requirements.
- Previous experience with site-based environmental compliance.
