Morson Edge is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor for a major solar construction project located near Canberra, ACT. The role focuses on hands-on health, safety and environmental support across the site, collaborating with management, supervisors, and contractors to uphold high safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have construction-related HSE experience, Australian WHS knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous HSE experience within construction, civil, infrastructure or renewables environments.
• Relevant HSE qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while being part of a site-based team.
• Construction White Card and current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day HSE advice and support to site operations.
• Conducting site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and procedures.
• Reviewing SWMS, JHAs and other safety documentation.
• Leading and assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Monitoring contractor compliance and safe work practices.
• Identifying hazards and implementing effective risk controls.
• Maintaining accurate HSE records and reporting.
• Promoting a positive safety culture across the project.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm + Saturday, 8:00am–2:00pm

This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional looking for a long-term project role with the opportunity to work as part of a professional construction team and play a key role in maintaining high safety standards across site operations.

The Role As the HSE Advisor, you will provide hands‑on health, safety and environmental support across the solar project, working closely with site management, supervisors, contractors and the workforce.

About You

We are looking for an HSE professional who is hands‑on, practical and confident working in a construction environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous HSE experience within construction, civil, infrastructure, renewables or similar environments.
• Relevant HSE qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a site‑based team.
• Construction White Card.
• Current driver's licence.

Solar, renewable energy, electrical or high‑voltage construction experience would be highly regarded.

Project & Location

The project is located approximately 45 minutes from Canberra.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are:

• Canberra‑based or living in surrounding areas and able to commute.
• Willing to relocate to the area and remain on the project for its duration.

Accommodation will be provided for suitable candidates who relocate for the project.

Working Hours

• Monday–Friday: 7:00am–5:00pm
• Saturday: 8:00am–2:00pm
• Sunday: Off
