Job summary

Western Sydney Airport seeks a site-based Community Engagement Coordinator to support operational readiness, engagement programs and stakeholder communications within the Corporate Affairs team. This 6-month max term role reports to the Executive Manager – Community.

You will coordinate forums, manage inquiries and deliver campaigns across construction and operations, building strong relationships with residents and businesses to reflect airport development goals.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years' experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications, or corporate affairs, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or major projects.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver community engagement and communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience building effective relationships across internal and external groups.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear messaging.
• Strong organisational, administration, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.
• IAP2 accreditation is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of community and stakeholder engagement programs, ensuring regulatory and project commitments.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, forums, meetings, communications, and engagement initiatives across construction and operational phases.
• Manage community enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and positive customer experience.
• Deliver community engagement campaigns, project notifications, and communications to keep stakeholders informed.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, businesses, community groups and key stakeholders affected by airport development.
• Represent community interests by collaborating with internal teams and contributing to decisions affecting local communities.
• Identify engagement risks and opportunities, providing insights to support project outcomes.
• Support implementation of Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement strategies, programs, and initiatives.
• Champion safety, compliance, and best-practice engagement across all interactions.
• Contribute to a collaborative, agile team environment and support ad hoc projects as required.
