Job summary

Western Sydney International Airport in Sydney NSW is seeking a Community Engagement Advisor on a 6-month max-term contract. The role sits in the Community function of the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Executive Manager – Community.

It is a site-based position coordinating engagement activities across construction and operations. You will support delivery of engagement programs, coordinate forums, manage enquiries and complaints, and help keep stakeholders informed.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications, or corporate affairs.
• Ability to develop and deliver community engagement materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with internal and external groups.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of community and stakeholder engagement programs, ensuring regulatory and project commitments.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, forums, meetings, and engagement initiatives across construction and operations.
• Manage community enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and positive customer experience.
• Deliver community engagement campaigns and project communications to keep stakeholders informed.

This position sits within the Community function of the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Executive Manager – Community. It’s a site-based role with responsibility for coordination and support of operational readiness, operations and community engagement activities.

Please note this is a 6-month maximum term position.

• Represent community interests by collaborating with internal teams and contributing to decisions that affect local communities.

• Support the implementation of Corporate Affairs and Community Engagement strategies, programs, and initiatives.
• Champion safety, compliance, and best-practice engagement across all community interactions.
• Contribute to a collaborative, agile team environment, supporting ad hoc projects and activities as required.

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
• 3-4 years' experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications, or corporate affairs, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or major projects.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver community engagement and communication materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building effective relationships across internal and external groups.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messaging.
• Strong organisational, administration, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-focused approach, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to organisational values.
• Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.
• IAP2 accreditation is highly regarded.
