Job summary

Western Sydney International Airport in Sydney NSW is seeking a Community Engagement Advisor on a 6-month max-term contract. The role sits in the Community function of the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Executive Manager – Community.

It is a site-based position coordinating engagement activities across construction and operations. You will support delivery of engagement programs, coordinate forums, manage enquiries and complaints, and help keep stakeholders informed.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications, or corporate affairs.
• Ability to develop and deliver community engagement materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with internal and external groups.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of community and stakeholder engagement programs, ensuring regulatory and project commitments.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, forums, meetings, and engagement initiatives across construction and operations.
• Manage community enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and positive customer experience.
• Deliver community engagement campaigns and project communications to keep stakeholders informed.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, businesses and community groups affected by airport development.
• Represent community interests by collaborating with internal teams.
• Identify engagement risks and provide insights to support project outcomes.
• Support implementation of Community Engagement strategies and initiatives.
• Champion safety, compliance, and best-practice engagement across all interactions.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and ad hoc projects.
