Job summary

Lithgow Information & Neighbourhood Centre Limited is seeking a Team Leader to guide SIL teams, support day-to-day services, and foster a positive, collaborative culture. Working with participants, families and stakeholders, you will champion person-centred supports that build on individual strengths, promote choice and encourage greater independence.

The 35-hour-per-week role (Mon–Fri) emphasizes leadership, rostering, and ensuring high-quality, compliant service delivery while supporting staff

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Disabilities or strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to inspire staff.
• Ability to work under direction or autonomously with good time management.
• Experience rostering.
• Knowledge of person-centred principles in SIL.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current Disability Worker screening and Working with Children Check.
• Current Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant documentation and data collection.
• Review reports contributing to participant support.
• Respond to emergencies outside business hours when required.
• Develop and adjust SIL rosters as required.
• Support staff during daily routines and provide feedback when issues arise.
• Attend to personal and health care requirements per support plans.
• Ensure correct storage and access to reports/information on activities and meetings.
• Report weekly/monthly to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on authorised and unauthorised restrictive practices.
• Manage and document stock of PPE, groceries and household cleaning material.

Job description

As Team Leader, you'll provide guidance and support to our SIL teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation of services while fostering a positive, collaborative culture. Working alongside participants, families and key stakeholders, you'll champion person-centred supports that build on individual strengths, promote choice and encourage greater independence.

The position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and action all participant specific documentation, including data collection and file notes as directed

Assist in reviewing all necessary reports that will contribute to effective participant support

Respond to emergency situations outside of normal business hours when required

Facilitate with all staff the ability to develop and work with person-centered plans

Develop and adjust SIL rosters as required

Provide appropriate support to staff during their daily routines, provide advice and feedback to staff when issues arise

Undertake the daily tasks of the accommodation service and attend to the personal and health care requirements of the participants as per support plans

Ensure correct storage and access to reports/Information on activities and participant meetings

Undertake reporting on a weekly/monthly basis to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on authorised and unauthorised restrictive practices

Manage and document stock of PPE, groceries and household cleaning material

Selection Criteria

Certificate IV Disabilities, or strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards and experience in the disability sector

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to provide expert advice and consultation with staff and other professionals

Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to provide staff with a clear sense of focus and inspiring others to perform to the best of their abilities

Ability to work under direction as well as autonomously, with high level of time management, to respond to emergent situations

Experience and sound knowledge in rostering

Experience and/or knowledge of person-centred principles in a SIL environment and outcomes focused support, and a passion for supporting people with a disability

Current First Aid Certificate

Current Disability Worker screening check and Working with Children Check

Current Driver's Licence
