In Curtains is seeking a friendly Showroom Sales Consultant for our Maroochydore team. You will be the first point of contact in showroom, on the phone, and for online enquiries, providing warm, helpful, and professional service while guiding customers through product options and pricing.

The role blends showroom sales with customer service, scheduling initial home consultations, reviewing plans and measurements, and preparing pricing and quotes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

In Curtains is a third-generation Sunshine Coast business with over 40 years of experience. We specialise in curtains, blinds and outdoor window furnishings, as well as upholstery, wallpaper, rugs and other soft furnishings, servicing customers across the Sunshine Coast and South East Queensland.

We are looking for a Showroom Sales Consultant to join our Maroochydore team.

The Role

This is a customer-facing role with a strong focus on customer experience, sales support and accurate administration.

You will often be one of the first people a customer deals with, whether they visit the showroom, call us or send through an enquiry. We are looking for someone who is warm, helpful and professional, and who takes ownership of making sure customers are looked after from that first interaction.

The role includes a mix of showroom sales and customer service, booking initial in-home consultations, reviewing plans and measurements, preparing pricing and quotes, following up enquiries and supporting our senior decorators and operations team.

Strong attention to detail is important, as you will regularly be working with measurements, specifications, pricing and customer order information.

For approximately the first six months, you will also assist with our purchasing function, including placing supplier orders, checking order details and making sure information is processed correctly. We are currently upgrading and automating a number of these processes, so this part of the role is expected to reduce over time.

The position is primarily full-time, however we are open to 4 days per week for the right person.

• Provide a high level of customer service in the showroom, over the phone and through customer enquiries
• Understand what customers are trying to achieve and guide them through suitable products, fabrics and finishes
• Book initial in-home consultations with our decorators
• Review house, apartment and building plans, measurements and specifications
• Prepare accurate pricing and quotes
• Explain products and pricing clearly to customers
• Follow up enquiries and make sure customers are kept informed
• Process customer orders accurately
• Assist with purchasing and supplier orders during the initial transition period
• Check measurements, pricing, order details and supplier information
• Maintain showroom displays and samples
• From time to time, assist our decorators at customer homes on larger or more complex projects
• Work closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure customers receive a consistent experience from enquiry through to installation

• Confident and professional communication, both in person and over the phone
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with plans, measurements, specifications and pricing
• Good organisation and ability to manage multiple enquiries and tasks
• An interest in interiors and design
• Confident using technology and learning new systems
• Someone who takes ownership and follows things through
• Able to work well as part of a team
• Willing and available to work Saturdays (9am - 1pm) on a shared rostered rotation
• Experience in sales, quoting, purchasing, administration, curtains, blinds or interiors would be helpful, but is not essential. We are more interested in finding the right person with strong people skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
