Job summary

King Living is opening a new Maroochydore showroom and seeks a proven retail leader to build and run the operation from day one. You will hire, train and coach a high-caliber team, ensure outstanding customer experiences, and manage budgets, stock, and safety across the floor.

You will lead from the showroom floor, resolving complex customer issues, setting standards, and collaborating with a national team to drive growth in a premium/furniture context.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in retail, ideally premium or luxury.
• Experience opening or launching a new retail location is an advantage.
• Strong commercial acumen, comfortable managing showroom budgets and performance.
• Proven recruiter and coach able to build a cohesive team from scratch.
• Highly organised with attention to detail and operational discipline.
• Confident problem-solver able to negotiate and influence outcomes.
• Resilient, able to work at pace across priorities.
• Experience in furniture, textiles, interior design or related industries preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office and retail systems.
• Available to work weekends as part of regular roster.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and launch of Maroochydore showroom, recruiting and onboarding your team.
• Guide customers through consultative sales, achieve showroom targets, maintain high satisfaction.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team from scratch with clear priorities.
• Manage rosters, staffing, attendance and showroom operations efficiently.
• Coordinate with Visual Merchandising on updates, stock deliveries and pricing.
• Build a strong safety culture and ensure compliant practices.
