Job summary

King Living, a family-owned Australian design company, is opening a brand new showroom in Maroochydore and seeks a Design Consultant to guide customers through the design and purchasing journey with design expertise and care.

You will build genuine relationships, follow up leads, and work with the team to achieve showroom sales targets while showcasing our modular, high-quality furniture and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Proven sales experience in retail, furniture or interior design.
• Keen eye for detail and understanding of how people live at home.
• Confident written and verbal communication; able to sustain a longer sales journey.
• Comfortable with meeting showroom sales targets.
• Basic computer/data entry skills and ability to work with in-house systems.

Responsibilities

• Consultative customer experience to guide purchases face to face and over the phone.
• Follow up leads, quotes and enquiries and convert them with the team.
• Develop product knowledge across engineering, configurations, fabrics and finishes.

King Living is a family-owned Australian design company that has been designing and manufacturing its own furniture since 1977 — signature steel frames, modular designs built to be reconfigured, removable covers, and pieces made to last decades rather than seasons. We are opening a brand new showroom in Maroochydore, and we are looking for the founding team to bring it to life.

As a Design Consultant, you are the reason a customer chooses us. You will guide people through one of the biggest decisions they make for their home — understanding how they actually live, helping them picture it, and designing a solution that fits. It is a consultative sale, not a transaction.

Being part of a new showroom means you help set the standard from the very first day — how it looks, how it feels, and what it is like to purchase from King Living on the Sunshine Coast.

What You Will Own

Consultative Customer Experience

Build genuine relationships and deliver an exceptional experience face to face and over the phone — guiding customers through their purchasing journey with design expertise and real care.

Sales Performance & Pipeline

Follow up every lead, quote and enquiry and convert it, working with the team to make the most of every campaign and promotion.

Design & Product Expertise

Become a genuine expert in what we make and why — the engineering, the modular configurations, the fabrics, leathers and finishes — and use space planning to help customers see a King Living piece in their own home.

Showroom & Brand Standards

Maintain showroom presentation to the highest standard in line with Visual Merchandising guidelines, so every customer walks into a space worth their time.

Systems & Accuracy

Use our in-house systems to process and manage sales orders efficiently and accurately — configurations, fabrics, measurements and lead times right the first time.

Who You Are

A design-passionate sales professional who builds real relationships — ready for somewhere that values exactly that.

• Available for regular weekend work is a must
• Proven sales experience, ideally in retail, furniture, textiles or interior design, with a keen eye for detail
• A genuine interest in design and real curiosity about how people live in their homes
• Confident communication skills, written and verbal, with the patience for a longer sales journey
• A natural ability to build lasting customer relationships and a passion for selling well
• Comfortable working towards individual and showroom sales targets
• A quick learner who can understand customer needs and respond with the right solution
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including data entry
• Comfortable standing for long periods, demonstrating products and lifting up to 10kg
• Furniture experience is helpful, but not essential. We will teach you our products. We are looking for people with the right mindset.
