Job summary

King Living is opening a flagship showroom on the Sunshine Coast and seeks a dynamic leader to bring it to life. You will hire the team, set standards, open the doors and run the showroom, steering sales performance, customer experience, and operations from the floor with support from a national retail team.

You’ll lead from the ground up, coach in the moment, handle difficult conversations, and set the standard for the entire showroom.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in retail, ideally premium or luxury.
• Experience opening or launching a new retail location is a genuine advantage.
• Strong commercial acumen, comfortable managing showroom budgets and performance.
• A proven recruiter and coach who can build a cohesive team from the ground up.
• Highly organised, with real attention to detail and operational discipline.
• A confident problem-solver who can negotiate and influence outcomes.
• Resilient and able to work at pace across competing priorities.
• Experience in furniture, textiles, interior design or related industries preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and retail systems.
• Available to work weekends as part of your regular roster.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and launch of Maroochydore — recruiting and onboarding your team with People & Culture, getting the showroom ready to trade, and making the first impression count.
• Achieve showroom targets and support every consultant to hit theirs. Guide customers through a consultative sale, keep satisfaction high, and resolve enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team from scratch. Build a positive, performance-driven culture aligned to our values, and communicate priorities through regular meetings, reviews and coaching.
• Manage rosters, staffing and attendance to meet demand. Oversee administration, showroom expenses, accurate pricing, orders, follow-ups and end-of-day processes.
• Partner with Visual Merchandising on updates and changeovers, coordinate stock and deliveries, keep inventory accurate, and maintain a strong workplace safety culture.
