Job summary

Oriental Grocer in Minto NSW is seeking a full-time Shop Manager to lead daily operations, monitor stock levels, set pricing, run promotions and ensure excellent customer service in a busy supermarket.

You will recruit, train and supervise staff, ensure food safety standards, control costs, and maintain store presentation in a friendly, community-focused environment. Flexible roster incl. weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year full time or part time equivalent as a shop manager.
• Systematic approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the shop to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Monitor stock levels of products and place orders with suppliers when needed.
• Set product prices and organise in-store promotions and specials.
• Assist customers with purchases and provide advice on products.
• Ensure products are displayed, stored, and handled properly to maintain freshness and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of stock, sales, and supplier deliveries.
• Manage shop budgets, monitor sales performance, and control operating costs.
• Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff to maintain high customer service standards.
• Ensure the shop complies with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Oversee store presentation, product displays, and overall cleanliness of the shop.

About the role

This is a full-time position, offering approximately 38 hours per week. You must be available for a flexible roster, including weekends and some public holidays.
