Job summary

STRAND is seeking a Shipping Coordinator Assistant for a 3-month part-time contract at our Pyrmont Head Office. You will support import shipments, coordinate suppliers and freight forwarders, and help keep our global supply chain on track.

Join a fast-paced retail team and develop your experience by reviewing orders and invoices, maintaining documentation, and building strong supplier relationships. Bring 1–3 years in shipping or logistics, strong Excel skills, and a proactive, detail‑oriented

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' experience in shipping, logistics or import operations.
• Understanding of international shipping processes, documentation and terminology.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems will be highly regarded.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track international shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Check purchase orders, supplier invoices and packing lists for accuracy.
• Maintain shipping documentation and assist with customs/compliance requirements.
• Review freight and supplier invoices and help resolve discrepancies.
• Work with Finance to reconcile supplier accounts and shipping costs.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and manage freight costs.
