Job summary

Redpath Mining is hiring a Shift Supervisor for the Lake Cowal project. You will lead underground crews, oversee production and development targets, and ensure safety and compliance on shift.

Reporting to the Underground Production Superintendent, you will coordinate personnel, equipment and materials, conduct risk assessments, and maintain accurate shift records while fostering continuous improvement and strong team performance.

• Excellent communication and ability to mentor teams.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Underground Production Superintendent, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading underground crews to achieve production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

You will provide frontline leadership, oversee daily mining activities, coordinate resources, and ensure work is completed in accordance with site plans and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise underground mining crews during shift operations.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all activities.
• Ensure production and development targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials to optimise shift performance.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, workplace inspections, and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with site procedures, mining regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Mentor and develop team members to support performance and capability growth.
• Investigate incidents, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate shift reports and operational records.

Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Significant underground mining experience, including supervisory experience.'
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
• Sound understanding of underground mining methods and equipment.
• Current NSW statutory qualifications relevant to the role ESSENTIAL
• Current manual driver's license
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
