Evolution Mining is seeking a Shift Leading Hand to run the Cowal mining crew, ensuring safety, meeting production targets, and keeping operations on track. You will lead prestart briefings, monitor hazards, and coordinate with operators and supervisors to deliver results on time.

This hands-on, fast-paced role requires a history of supervising heavy gear teams in open cut mining or similar environments, a current driver’s licence, and a proactive approach to safety and staff development.

Qualifications

• Seven years’ experience with heavy gear in open cut mining, quarries or road construction.
• Experience supervising crews and managing people for results.
• Safety-focused with good decision-making under pressure; capable of staying on track.

Responsibilities

• Lead prestart meetings and set up the shift board.
• Maintain safety, manage hazards and enforce high standards.
• Be the first point of contact for crew issues; help manage leave, rosters and performance reviews.
• Support training and development for the team and plan for future leadership.
