Job summary

BlueScope seeks a skilled Shift Electrician for its Electrical Maintenance team based in Salisbury. You will deliver hands-on electrical maintenance to production lines in a continuous manufacturing environment, enhancing machine safety, uptime and performance to support delivering world-class products.

Responsibilities

• Isolate equipment and perform corrective maintenance on machines.
• Inspect equipment and identify faults, and repair as needed.
• Respond to and resolve machine breakdowns with urgency.
• Continually seek opportunities to improve maintenance strategies.

The Opportunity

Orrcon Steel is looking for a Shift Electrician in our Electrical Maintenance team based in Salisbury. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.

In this business-critical role, you will provide hands-on electrical maintenance services to our production teams who operate within a continuous manufacturing environment. Your contribution will enable improved machine safety, uptime and performance so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers.

What Will You Do?

Working in a supportive environment, you will contribute to the safety of our people, the quality of our product and the reliability of our equipment. You'll achieve this by:

• isolating equipment and performing corrective maintenance on the machines
• inspecting equipment and identifying faults, taking necessary actions to repair these
• responding to and resolving machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency
• continually seeking opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies

More About You

We are on the lookout for dedicated team players and being a qualified Industrial Electrician, you will bring:

• a Trade qualification in Electrotechnology
• an Australian Unrestricted Electrical Licence
• a reasonable understanding of mechanical aptitude and maintenance in previous roles
• proven experience with PLC fault finding and PLC programming, utilising Siemens S7, TIA and SCADA systems or equivalent
• the ability to work both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
