Job summary

BlueScope Steel’s Orrcon Steel division in Salisbury is seeking a Mechanical Shift Fitter to provide hands-on maintenance in a continuous manufacturing environment. You will isolate equipment, perform corrective maintenance, and support production reliability.

You will bring demonstrated fitter experience, run machine rebuilds, align motors, pumps and gearboxes, and work with hydraulic and pneumatic circuits to keep uptime high. The role offers on-site parking, training and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machine rebuilds and improvements.
• Machining experience: Lathe and Milling machine.
• Experience in alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, belts, and chains.
• Experience in Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuits and components.

Responsibilities

• Isolating equipment and performing corrective maintenance on the machines.
• Inspecting equipment and identifying faults, taking necessary actions to repair these.
• Responding to and resolving machine breakdowns with a sense of urgency.
• Continually seeking opportunities to improve our maintenance strategies.

Orrcon Steel is looking for aMechanical Shift Fitterin ourMechanicalMaintenanceteam based inSalisbury. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe andleading Australian steel distributor with nationallyrecognised brands.

In this business-critical role, you will be providing hands-on maintenance services to our production teams, who operate within a continuous manufacturing environment. Your contribution will enable improved machine safety, uptime and performance so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers.

We are on the lookout for dedicated team players and being a qualified Industrial Fitter, you will bring:

• demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machine rebuilds and improvements
• machining experience: Lathe and Milling machine

• experience in Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuits and components
