Job summary

BlueScope’s Orrcon Steel division in Salisbury seeks a Mechanical Shift Fitter to join the Mechanical Maintenance team. You will provide hands-on maintenance to production lines in a continuous manufacturing environment, improving safety, uptime and performance of high‑duty equipment.

Qualified Industrial Fitter with experience in repair and alignment of motors, pumps and gearboxes is ideal. You’ll enjoy a supportive team, on‑site parking, and a focus on safety and development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Industrial Fitter with maintenance experience in manufacturing equipment.
• Experience repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment, including machine rebuilds.
• Ability to align motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, belts and chains.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and components.
• Isolation of equipment and execution of corrective maintenance with safety focus.
• Proactive, team‑oriented with strong problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Isolate equipment and perform corrective maintenance on machines.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults and undertake repairs.
• Respond to and resolve machine breakdowns with urgency.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve maintenance strategies.

Orrcon Steel is looking for aMechanical Shift Fitterin ourMechanicalMaintenanceteam based inSalisbury. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe andleading Australian steel distributor with nationallyrecognised brands.

In this business-critical role, you will be providing hands-on maintenance services to our production teams, who operate within a continuous manufacturing environment. Your contribution will enable improved machine safety, uptime and performance so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers.

More about you

We are on the lookout for dedicated team players and being a qualified Industrial Fitter, you will bring:

• demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including machine rebuilds and improvements
• machining experience: Lathe and Milling machine
• experience in alignment of: motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, belts, andchains
• experience in Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuits and components
