Job summary

GenusPlus is seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support safety, health, environment and quality on a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria. This site-based role operates on a 2/1 roster and is open to candidates based in Australia, with preference for Brisbane or Victoria residents.

You will work closely with project site teams to deliver the project safely and in line with legislative, client and Genus requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SHEQ Advisor or senior SHEQ on construction, energy, electrical infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental obligations and quality management systems.
• Experience developing and implementing project SHEQ plans, audits and assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of project safety, health, environmental and quality plans and procedures.
• Support project/site teams to identify risks and put effective controls in place.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, client requirements and Genus management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities, and follow actions through to completion.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• Support environmental management, including monitoring site controls and responding to issues.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, records, inspections and non-conformance management.
• Work with subcontractors to ensure SHEQ requirements are understood and met.
• Provide SHEQ reporting and identify opportunities to improve project practices.
• Promote a positive culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
