Job summary

The Redpath Group is seeking experienced Shaft Electricians to join the Appin Project in NSW. This role involves shaft sinking maintenance, underground mining operations, and compliance with safety and Australian standards.

Candidates with Electrical Trade Qualification and HV experience are preferred, with FIFO/DIDO options and accommodation may be available. The roster is 14 on/14 off, with competitive hourly rates and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Qualification required.
• HV Switching or High Voltage experience highly regarded.
• Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
• Working Safely at Heights certification.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Experience in underground mining, shaft sinking, tunnelling, heavy industry or construction preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to pass a Pre Employment Medical and National Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and compliance in confined and vertical shaft environments.
• Interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings for installation and maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and repair winders and related systems per Australian Standards.
• Conduct statutory testing and inspections in line with AS3000.
• Perform routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on shaft winder electrical, control, and automation systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on control circuits, variable speed drives, and networks.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation systems (ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PanelView, FactoryTalk, Studio 5000).
• Monitor equipment performance via SCADA and diagnostics.
• Mentor team members through training and development.
• Ensure compliance with Redpath SHEQ/WHS policies and standards.
