Job summary

Axiom Talent is seeking a hands-on Service Technician in Melbourne to support automated packaging and filling equipment across metro and regional sites. You will install, service and maintain machinery, diagnose faults, and provide on-site operator training.

The role requires 2+ years of post-trade experience in industrial servicing, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to read technical drawings. A company vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical trade background required.

• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Service Technician to support automated packaging and filling equipment across metro and regional sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain automated packaging and filling machinery
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and breakdown support
• Provide onsite technical support and operator training
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and customer requirements
• Complete service reports, documentation, and quotations
• Travel to customer sites within the state (predominantly local travel)
• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams
• Manage priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

About You

• Electrical/Electronic Trade Certificate III, Disconnect/Reconnect licence, or mechanical trade background
• Minimum 2 years’ post-trade experience servicing industrial machinery
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
• Comfortable working independently in a field service environment
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office and service reporting systems)
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to a team
