Job summary

RDO Equipment Sydney is seeking an experienced Service Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring outstanding customer service, efficient workflow, and a safe, productive environment. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will mentor technicians, schedule training, manage warranties and WIP, and drive a strong safety culture while maintaining high equipment standards.

You will collaborate across parts and service teams to support engine overhauls and major repairs,

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory or management experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Mechanical Trade Certificate is preferred.
• Experience with engine overhauls and major repairs including electrical, hydraulic and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and gather feedback from customers.
• Monitor and manage daily workshop workflow ensuring procedures and standards.
• Assign jobs to Service Technicians and support performance and development.
• Schedule and conduct in-house training for Technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain product knowledge and liaise with Parts Department as needed.
• Support timely warranty claims and WIP management.
• Review repair work before release to ensure quality.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a keyleadership role in the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuringexceptional customer service, efficient workflow management, and a safe,productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providingexcellent customer service, seeking customer feedback, and offering adviceto customers over the phone
• Monitoringand managing daily workshop workflow while ensuring compliance withcompany procedures and standards
• Assigningjobs to Service Technicians and supporting team members with performance,development, and day-to-day operational matters
• Schedulingand conducting in-house training for Service Technicians and apprentices
• Maintainingproduct knowledge and liaising with the Parts Department as required
• Assistingwith the management and resolution of customer concerns and disputes inconjunction with the Service Manager
• Supportingthe timely completion of warranty claims and work-in-progress (WIP)requirements
• Reviewingrepair work before equipment is released to customers to ensure qualitystandards are met
• Drivinga strong safety culture and leading by example within the workshop

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Strongsupervisory or management experience with the ability to lead, mentor, anddevelop a high-performing team
• AMechanical Trade Certificate (preferred but not essential)
• Experiencewith engine overhauls and major repairs, including electrical, hydraulic,and diagnostic troubleshooting
• Excellentcustomer service and communication skills
• Strongorganisational and problem-solving abilities
• Amature attitude and a logical, methodical approach to your work
• Acurrent and valid driver's licence
• High-riskwork tickets and/or licences will be highly regarded
