Job summary

Canberra Southern Cross Club in Canberra is seeking a Service Supervisor to lead front-line food & beverage and events operations. You will coordinate staff, coach on the floor, and ensure shifts run smoothly while upholding RSA and WHS compliance and venue presentation.

You'll provide on-shift direction to Team Leaders and Attendants, monitor customer interactions and performance, and stay current on menus and promotions.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or service with supervision or team leadership.
• Proven ability to coordinate staff and manage workflow during live operations.
• Sound understanding of RSA and WHS requirements and compliance obligations.
• Ability to provide clear direction, feedback and on-shift support.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As Service Supervisor, you'll lead front‑line operations across food & beverage and events, supervising our service teams to deliver consistent, compliant and genuinely welcoming experiences. You'll coordinate staff in real time, coach on the floor, and make sure every shift runs smoothly — all while upholding our standards for compliance (RSA & WHS) and venue presentation.

What You'll Do

• Provide clear direction to Team Leaders and Food and Beverage Attendants throughout the shift.
• Maintain full compliance across all service areas, including RSA and WHS, through proactive supervision.
• Provide on‑shift coaching and support, monitor customer interactions, and address performance issues in real time.
• Proactively manage venue presentation and operational readiness, and stay current on menus, promotions and operational changes.

About You

You'll need:

• Demonstrated experience in a hospitality or service environment, with exposure to supervising or leading a team.
• A proven ability to coordinate staff and manage workflow across multiple service areas during live operations.
• A sound understanding of RSA and WHS requirements, and compliance obligations.
• The ability to monitor performance and provide clear direction, feedback and on‑shift support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

It would also be great if you have:

• A qualification in hospitality, leadership or business management.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience in hospitality or a multi‑outlet venue.
• Experience in a membership‑based organisation.
