This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to take the lead on a highly complex supported accommodation program supporting one service user with significant mental health and behavioural support needs.
This is a dedicated single-person accommodation service, meaning the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide highly focused leadership and oversight within a specialised environment. This is not a traditional Service Manager position. The successful candidate will provide strong, visible leadership across a highly structured service, working alongside support staff to maintain safety, consistency, quality and best-practice support.
This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role. You will be based at the service Monday to Friday and work alongside two Support Workers on shift, providing direct leadership, guidance and oversight to the team.
You will be responsible for leading the service, developing and supporting your team, working closely with clinical and operational stakeholders, and ensuring robust procedures and support strategies are consistently implemented.
The role requires a leader who is decisive, calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions in complex and rapidly changing situations. Strong advocacy skills, emotional intelligence and a genuine understanding of mental health are essential.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, consistent and therapeutic environment while ensuring the service operates in line with organisational, clinical and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership experience within mental health, residential care, complex disability or similarly high-acuity environments
Demonstrated experience leading teams supporting people with complex behaviours and significant support needs
Strong understanding of mental health and the ability to work therapeutically and person-centredly
Proven ability to lead services where safety, risk management and robust procedures are critical
Decisive leadership style with the confidence to make sound decisions in complex and changing situations
Strong advocacy, communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience leading and developing support teams
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Disability, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or a related field highly regarded
NDIS experience is highly regarded, but candidates from strong mental health or residential care backgrounds will also be considered
Full working rights in Australia
NSW Driver’s Licence
Current police check and working with children/vulnerable persons checks
This role would suit an established leader who has previously worked within a complex, high-acuity program and is looking to take ownership of a service where strong leadership can make a genuine difference.
