Job summary

One Door Mental Health is seeking a Program Manager for the Canterbury Medicare Mental Health Centre. You will lead an established community mental health service during a growth phase as we relocate to a larger, purpose-built facility in Campsie.

This full-time role includes an on-call roster and occasional after-hours and weekend work with flexible arrangements for the right candidate, focusing on partnerships, quality, and service improvement.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or other relevant profession with current registration.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to coach, mentor and develop a team to deliver best quality service outcomes.
  • Experience in analysing service data to inform improvement and design.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.

Program Manager - Canterbury Medicare Mental Health Centre
  • Build meaningful partnerships and drive positive mental health outcomes across the community
  • Lead an established community mental health service entering a phase of growth as we relocate to a larger, purpose built facility
  • Full-Time position based in Canterbury, with relocation to a larger centre in Campsie currently underway (approximately 10 minutes from the current location)
About the Service

Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) Canterbury is an adult mental health centre offering a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for individuals experiencing distress or crisis. The centre delivers short- to medium-term episodes of care, connecting people to ongoing support through service navigation and collaborative care planning.

About the role

Join us at an exciting time of growth as we prepare to relocate to a larger, purpose-built centre in Campsie and expand to seven day operations. We're looking for a strategic, influential and adaptable leader who passionate about improving mental health outcomes, empowering teams and building strong community partnerships. This full time opportunity includes participation in an on-call roster and occasional after-hours and weekend work, with flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate.

What you’ll bring
  • Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant professions with current registration with the relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW, PACFA, etc.)
  • Proven experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of high-quality supervision.
  • An understanding of service data and the ability to analyse data to inform service improvement and design.
  • High level of organisation skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders, and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.
