Job summary

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the Emerald Service Department in QLD. You will be responsible for the department's P&L, budgets, and forecasting, while driving safety, productivity and customer satisfaction across workshop and field service operations.

You will manage WIP, labour recovery and service profitability, collaborate with Parts and Administration, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Cert III Trade Qualification in Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant or related heavy equipment trade.
• Leadership experience managing large service teams within mining/construction.
• Strong commercial acumen with budget and P&L experience.
• Solid understanding of labour recovery, WIP management and service profitability.
• Advanced capability with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Adaptive leadership style with ability to navigate changing priorities.
• Experience in mining, construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own the Emerald Service Department P&L, budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• Lead and develop the service team, driving safety, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Parts, Customer Support and Administration to deliver outstanding service.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment and apprentice development.
