Job summary

Hastings Deering is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our Brisbane branch. In this permanent, full-time role, you will work with the Brisbane Field Service team to deliver high-quality service to our customers.

You’ll build strong customer relationships, coordinate scheduling with foremen, manage records in Microsoft AX, and assist with repair estimates. A trade qualification and frontline service experience in heavy industries are preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified with relevant experience in heavy industries.
• Experience in frontline service within heavy mining and construction.
• Proficient with AX and Power BI systems.
• Understanding Caterpillar products desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost-effective service and exceed customer expectations.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Manage records, labour hours, and invoicing in Microsoft AX.
• Monitor quality and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist scheduling and workflow with Foremen and leads.
• Collaborate on accurate repair estimates with technicians.

Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join our Brisbane Branch. This position will work with the Brisbane Field Service team ensuring that our customers receive a high level of service. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday role.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Service Advisor at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Deliver quality service – provide cost-effective support that exceeds customer expectations and minimises complaints.

• Maintain and build strong relationships – Build and maintain customer and internal relationships, acting as the key operational contact for assigned customers.

• Ensure accurate records – manage documentation, labour hours, and invoicing in Microsoft AX to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

• Monitor job performance – oversee quality and efficiency of all work, ensuring standards and deadlines are met.

• Support scheduling and workflow – assist Foremen and Leading Hands with labour allocation, service calls, and task management.

• Contribute to quoting and collaboration – help prepare accurate repair estimates and work closely with technicians and supervisors to deliver for customers.

What you’ll need:

A successful teammate will have experience in:

• Qualified and experienced – hold a relevant trade qualification or have extensive experience within our industry

• Industry knowledge – proven experience in frontline service within heavy mining and construction industries.

• Systems capability – confident with computing, including Microsoft AX and Power BI.

• Product knowledge – in-depth understanding of Caterpillar machinery, products, and services is desirable.

• Safety focused – committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.

• Customer-oriented communicator – highly developed verbal and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.

• Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on expectations.
