Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join the Brisbane Branch. This permanent, full-time role supports the Field Service team, delivering reliable service to customers and managing records in AX.

You will build relationships, assist with scheduling and quoting, and contribute to a high-performing service operation within a large CAT dealership network.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced – hold a relevant trade qualification or have extensive experience within our industry.
• Industry knowledge – frontline service in heavy mining and construction industries.
• Systems capability – computing skills including Microsoft AX and Power BI.
• Product knowledge – Caterpillar machinery, products and services understanding.
• Safety focused – high standards of workplace health and safety.
• Customer-oriented communicator – strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality service that exceeds customer expectations and minimises complaints.
• Maintain and build strong relationships as the key operational contact for customers.
• Ensure accurate records of labour hours and invoicing in AX.
• Monitor job performance to meet standards and deadlines.
• Support scheduling and workflow with foremen and leading hands.
• Contribute to quoting and collaborate with technicians and supervisors.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Service Advisor at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Deliver quality service – provide cost-effective support that exceeds customer expectations and minimises complaints.
• Maintain and build strong relationships – Build and maintain customer and internal relationships, acting as the key operational contact for assigned customers.
• Ensure accurate records – manage documentation, labour hours, and invoicing in Microsoft AX to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor job performance – oversee quality and efficiency of all work, ensuring standards and deadlines are met.
• Support scheduling and workflow – assist Foremen and Leading Hands with labour allocation, service calls, and task management.
• Contribute to quoting and collaboration – help prepare accurate repair estimates and work closely with technicians and supervisors to deliver for customers.

What you’ll need:

A successful teammate will have experience in:

• Qualified and experienced – hold a relevant trade qualification or have extensive experience within our industry
• Industry knowledge – proven experience in frontline service within heavy mining and construction industries.
• Systems capability – confident with computing, including Microsoft AX and Power BI.
• Product knowledge – in-depth understanding of Caterpillar machinery, products, and services is desirable.
• Safety focused – committed to maintaining highest standards of workplace health and safety.
• Customer-oriented communicator – highly developed verbal and interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service.
• Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast‑paced environment and consistently deliver on expectations.
