Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd, Brisbane Branch, is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our Field Service team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on delivering high-level service to customers and coordinating service calls across a busy Brisbane operation.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant trade qualification, have frontline service experience in heavy mining/construction, and be proficient with Microsoft AX and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced – hold a relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven frontline service experience in heavy mining and construction sectors.
• Proficient with computer systems including Microsoft AX and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality service and cost-effective support that meets customer expectations.
• Build and maintain strong customer and internal relationships as the primary operational contact.
• Manage documentation, labour hours and invoicing within Microsoft AX for accuracy.
• Monitor job performance, quality, and deadlines to meet standards.
• Assist foremen and leading hands with labour allocation, service calls and task management.
• Contribute to accurate repair estimates and collaborate with technicians and supervisors to deliver for customers.

This position will work with the Brisbane Field Service team ensuring that our customers receive a high level of service. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Deliver quality service – provide cost-effective support that exceeds customer expectations and minimises complaints.
• Maintain and build strong relationships – Build and maintain customer and internal relationships, acting as the key operational contact for assigned customers.
• Ensure accurate records – manage documentation, labour hours, and invoicing in Microsoft AX to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor job performance – oversee quality and efficiency of all work, ensuring standards and deadlines are met.
• Support scheduling and workflow – assist Foremen and Leading Hands with labour allocation, service calls, and task management.
• Contribute to quoting and collaboration – help prepare accurate repair estimates and work closely with technicians and supervisors to deliver for customers.

What you’ll need:

• Qualified and experienced – hold a relevant trade qualification or have extensive experience within our industry
• Industry knowledge – proven experience in frontline service within heavy mining and construction industries.
• Systems capability – confident with computing, including Microsoft AX and Power BI.
• Product knowledge – in-depth understanding of Caterpillar machinery, products, and services is desirable.
• Safety focused – committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.
• Customer-oriented communicator – highly developed verbal and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
• Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on expectations.
