Job summary

Coast Shelter, a not-for-profit charity on the Central Coast, is seeking a Senior Case Worker – Youth to lead its Youth Services team across six shelters for young people aged 16–24. You’ll work within a trauma-responsive framework to enhance residents’ lives in crisis accommodation.

You will coordinate daily operations, oversee case management and living skills programs, and supervise Case Workers and Support Workers, guiding professional development and reflective practice to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma level or higher in a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience.
• Advanced casework and assessment experience.
• Trauma responsive care principles and person-centred practice.
• Understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities.
• Ability to coach, mentor and collaborate to improve outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of youth refuge.
• Oversee strength-based case management and living skills program.
• Provide supervision, professional development and coaching to staff.
• Support youth's transition to independence and stable accommodation.
