Job summary

Findex is seeking a Workplace Relations Manager (ER and WHS) to lead employee relations and safety across Australia and New Zealand. You will shape risk management, investigations, and advisory support for senior leaders, reporting to the Head of People.

This is a national, flexible- location role with an 18-month max-term contract, requiring calm judgment under pressure. You will build proactive, data-driven strategies, oversee investigations before matters escalate, and lead a dedicated

Qualifications

• Substantial senior experience in employee relations or industrial relations with strong knowledge of Australian employment law.
• Experience conducting and supervising workplace investigations and matters before relevant authorities.
• Proven ability to move a function from reactive to proactive using data and trend analysis.
• Ability to balance legal/compliance requirements with commercial priorities and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading a team and coaching others on complex matters.
• Desirable: knowledge of NZ employment law, Australian WHS, and M&A due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the highest-risk employee relations matters, including investigations, external claims, exits and settlements.
• Provide commercial, risk‑assessed advice on employment and industrial relations to senior stakeholders.
• Move the function from reactive to proactive by analyzing trends and data to prevent escalations.
• Oversee WHS and psychosocial safety leadership and workplace risk governance.
• Lead and coach the Workplace Relations team across Australia and New Zealand.
• Manage relationships with external advisers and cross‑functional partners.
