Job summary

Tandem Partners is partnering with a large, values-driven organisation in Melbourne to appoint an experienced Workplace Relations Manager on an interim basis. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will lead a seven-person team across workplace relations, injury management and administration, handling complex employee matters and providing expert advice to senior leaders.

• Extensive workplace relations and employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and workplace frameworks.
• Exposure to injury management and WorkCover processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters end to end.
• Escalate high-risk cases, investigations, misconduct, and terminations.
• Resolve case backlog and handle increased workloads toward year-end.
• Provide leadership to workplace relations and injury management teams.
• Oversee reporting, governance and compliance activities.

We are partnering with a large, values-driven organisation to appoint an experienced Workplace Relations Manager on an interim basis. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong workplace relations practitioner who can confidently manage complex employee matters, provide expert advice to senior leaders, and lead a high-performing team across workplace relations and injury management.

This opportunity is available immediately and will run through to the end of the year, with the potential for extension.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will take ownership of a broad portfolio of workplace relations and employee relations matters, while leading a team of seven specialists across workplace relations, injury management and administration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing complex and sensitive employee relations matters from end to end.
• Acting as the escalation point for high-risk cases, including investigations, misconduct matters and terminations.
• Supporting the resolution of an existing case backlog and managing increased workloads through the year-end period.
• Providing leadership and direction to a team of workplace relations and injury management professionals.
• Overseeing reporting, governance and compliance activities.

You are a seasoned workplace relations leader who combines strong technical expertise with a practical and pragmatic approach.
