Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking a Senior Communications Engineer to lead design and delivery of telecommunications solutions across major infrastructure projects in Australia. You will guide the full lifecycle from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires extensive wireless and fixed system experience, CPEng or progression toward it, and ability to collaborate with clients, suppliers and internal teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia or a recognised equivalent body.
• CPEng status, or a willingness to work towards achieving it.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Extensive experience in the design and implementation of wireless and fixed telecommunications systems.
• Strong knowledge of radio system deployments, installation methodologies and commissioning practices.
• Experience using RF planning and design tools such as ATDI and iBwave.

Responsibilities

• Lead and undertake communications engineering design activities across a variety of projects.
• Develop engineering solutions for wireless and fixed telecommunications systems.
• Support tender submissions through technical input, reference designs and budget estimates.
• Provide technical guidance during procurement, installation, testing and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, quality, safety and project requirements.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Support risk management, systems assurance and engineering governance activities.
• Mentor and develop engineering team capability and technical excellence.
