Job summary

UGL Pty Limited seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams and drive engineering excellence across complex projects and tenders in Australia. You will provide technical leadership, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure designs meet contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, construction teams, consultants and clients to ensure engineering outcomes support delivery from concept through to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Eligibility for Member grade of Engineers Australia.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering and design teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Excellent commercial, risk and contract awareness.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams across major projects and tenders.
• Develop and implement Engineering and Design Management Plans.
• Ensure designs are coordinated, compliant, constructible and aligned with project objectives.
• Manage design programs, deliverables, budgets and consultant performance.
• Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards, client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor, coach and develop Design Managers, Design Coordinators and broader engineering teams.
• Contribute to tender preparation, engineering estimates and bid strategy development.
