Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to join its SA & NT Security and Communications Team in Adelaide. You will provide technical leadership across complex fibre, radio and ICT projects, collaborating with clients to solve challenges in critical infrastructure and Defence environments.

With 8+ years in telecommunications/ICT and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, you’ll lead design, mentor peers, and shape solutions from concept through commissioning while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of telecommunications and ICT delivery experience in built environments, Defence, or critical infrastructure.
• Australian Government Defence security clearance or eligibility.
• Demonstrated leadership in design and delivery of complex communications projects.
• Experience with Defence, critical infrastructure, campuses, or datacentres.
• Consulting experience including client engagement and project delivery responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary telecommunications technologies and installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and delivery of complex ICT and communications solutions (IP networks, Wi‑Fi, radio, AV systems).
• Interface with Building Management Systems, energy monitoring, security alarm, CCTV and ELV services.
• Provide technical leadership across full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and review technical documentation, specifications and designs for high-quality outcomes.
• Lead technology contributions on major Defence, Transport, Infrastructure projects with budget/schedule/risk oversight.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as trusted advisor.
• Support business growth through opportunity identification, proposals and collaboration with regional teams.
• Mentor and develop emerging engineers to foster technical excellence.
