Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced LTE Radio Expert to lead RF design and optimisation on a major railway communications project in Australia. You will be the key technical contact for radio design and oversee the quality and progress of multidisciplinary deliverables.

You will lead LTE RF planning, design, testing and network acceptance, while mentoring local and remote RF engineers and managing customer discussions and scope changes.

Qualifications

• LTE/E-UTRAN RF design and optimisation expertise.
• Strong knowledge of RF planning tools and optimisation.
• Proven technical leadership and ability to communicate with customers.
• Ability to interpret contractual technical requirements and manage changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead LTE RF planning, design, testing, optimisation and network acceptance.
• Coordinate and mentor RF planning, test and optimisation engineers (local and remote).
• Manage customer technical discussions, scope of work, requirements, changes and expectations.
• Review technical submissions, trackers, traceability matrices and verification evidence.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary checks, independent verification and customer workshops.
• Collaborate with RAN, EPC, BTN, cybersecurity, safety and RAMS teams.
• Support project schedules, lab testing and acceptance readiness.

Our client is seeking an experienced LTE Radio Expert to lead RF design and optimisation workstreams on a major railway communications project. You will be the key technical point of contact for radio design and optimisation and oversee the quality and progress of multidisciplinary deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead LTE RF planning, design, testing, optimisation and network acceptance.
• Coordinate and mentor local and remote RF planning, test and optimisation engineers.
• Manage customer technical discussions, scope of work, requirements, changes and expectations.
• Review technical submissions, trackers, traceability matrices and verification evidence.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary checks, independent verification and customer workshops.
• Work with RAN, EPC, BTN, cybersecurity, safety and RAMS teams.
• Support project schedules, progress reporting, laboratory testing and acceptance readiness.

About you

• Demonstrated LTE/E-UTRAN RF design and optimisation expertise - essential.
• Strong knowledge of RF planning and optimisation tools.
• Proven technical team leadership and customer-facing communication.
• Ability to interpret contractual technical requirements and manage scope changes.
• Experience with railway radio networks, tunnel/IBC designs, Nokia RAN parameters or lab/FAT testing - advantageous.
• Currently located in Australia with full working rights.
