Job summary

UGL is seeking a Senior Communications Engineer in Sydney to lead communications design across major infrastructure projects, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safety and on-time delivery. You will work with project teams, customers and suppliers, leveraging RF planning tools and delivering robust engineering solutions.

You will contribute to tender submissions, provide technical guidance during procurement and commissioning, and mentor a high-performing team while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia or a recognised equivalent body.
• CPEng status, or a willingness to work towards achieving it.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Extensive experience in the design and implementation of wireless and fixed telecommunications systems.
• Strong knowledge of radio system deployments, installation methodologies and commissioning practices.
• Experience using RF planning and design tools such as ATDI and iBwave.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Experience within rail, defence, transport, military, avionics or other safety-critical environments will be highly regarded.

As a Senior Communications Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept design and engineering through to installation, testing, commissioning and operational support. About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering - Communications, you will be responsible for developing and delivering communications engineering solutions while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
