Job summary

Arup Australia is seeking a senior water/wastewater modeller to lead planning, hydraulic modelling and technical delivery across Queensland. The role demands independent modelling input, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and delivery to programme and budget.

You will develop and calibrate hydraulic networks, undertake capacity and servicing assessments, produce client-ready reports and mentor junior modellers within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or closely related degree.
• Professional experience of 5+ years in infrastructure/ water sector.
• Current RPEQ in Civil Engineering.
• Substantial water or wastewater network-modelling experience.
• Proficiency in InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS Pro, Bentley WaterGems and Bentley SewerGems.
• Australian water infrastructure experience.
• Experience across both water and wastewater networks.
• Queensland utility and SEQ Code experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead or independently deliver defined water and wastewater network modelling tasks, with minor oversight from senior technical leaders.
• Develop, update, calibrate, verify and interrogate hydraulic network models and document assumptions, limitations and recommendations.
• Undertake network capacity, servicing, operational, option and staging assessments to support planning and design decisions.
• Ensure technical quality and accuracy of modelling outputs; contribute to QA of others' outputs.
• Coordinate modelling inputs/outputs with civil, mechanical, process and other disciplines.
• Prepare clear technical reports, model documentation, drawings and client-ready presentations.
• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders in technical meetings and workshops.
