Job summary

Victims of Crime Commissioner is seeking a Senior Complaints and Investigations Officer in Melbourne to lead reviews of complaints under the Victims' Charter and support victims seeking redress. The role demands guiding a team through sensitive, trauma-informed investigations and producing clear plans, reports and correspondence for agencies and the Commissioner.

You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage workloads, and drive improvements in complaint handling.

Qualifications

• No mandatory qualification for this role; a tertiary qualification in law or a related field would be well regarded.
• Experience managing administrative investigations with a focus on people's needs.
• Strong ability to write clear reports and letters and work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• lead fair complaint assessments and investigations, interview witnesses and review evidence
• guide your team to provide respectful support that recognises trauma effects
• prepare clear investigation plans, reports and letters to support the Commissioner's work
• improve complaint handling, manage workloads and build strong relationships with agencies
• identify system-wide problems and use complaint trends to shape changes
