Suncorp Group is seeking a data-driven professional to strengthen underwriting governance for its Vero SME team in Sydney. You will oversee independent reviews, monitor appetite adherence, and translate findings into practical improvements across processes and platforms.

Qualifications

• Advanced analytical skills to access, manipulate and interpret data from multiple sources.
• Experience producing exception reports, dashboards and MI with remediation tracking.
• Underwriting governance, risk controls and platform oversight experience.
• Knowledge of SME underwriting guidelines, appetite and delegated authorities.
• Experience designing, testing and improving underwriting controls in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and embed underwriting governance, reporting and reviews with clear ownership and escalation.
• Monitor appetite, guideline, referral and process adherence across underwriting operations.
• Analyse data from multiple sources to identify exceptions, trends and risks.
• Develop dashboards and management reporting for breaches, remediation and residual risk.
• Lead thematic reviews and recommend practical improvements to processes and platforms.
• Explore responsible automation and agentic AI while maintaining data quality and human oversight.
