Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Turbine Aerodynamicist to lead advancements in high and low-pressure turbine design for aircraft and industrial gas turbine products. You will influence design strategies, mentor teams, and drive cross-domain problem solving while maintaining a focus on risk management and process improvement.

The role offers remote or onsite work at our Cincinnati HQ with a potential discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in turbomachinery aerodynamics, and a minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience.
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in turbomachinery aerodynamics, and a minimum of 14 years of relevant technical experience.
• PhD from an accredited college/university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in turbomachinery aerodynamics, and a minimum of 12 years of relevant technical experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in turbomachinery aerodynamics (Europe)

Responsibilities

• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Turbine Aerodynamic Design and Analysis across product lifecycles.
• Promote systems thinking, risk mitigation, and problem-solving methodologies with stakeholders.
• Utilize and mentor in the DEQ process and apply product/process improvement tools to reduce variations.
• Identify opportunities for improved designs, methods, and processes across domains and sites.
• Evaluate gaps and maintain Engineering or Manufacturing Practices Manuals.
• Demonstrate technology vision using academia and industry trends to influence Design Boards.
• Lead program issue resolution to meet customer and regulatory expectations across domains.
• Optimize designs and processes to maximize business value through cross-domain collaboration.
• Drive coaching and training initiatives, focusing on engaging early-career personnel.
• Identify and address strategic gaps in domain, site, or organizational health.
• Foster psychological safety and encourage all voices in initiatives.
• Demonstrate calm maturity and clear thinking under pressure to influence leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics (US candidates)

Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics (US candidates)

PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics
