Job summary
Woodward Sydney seeks an experienced control systems engineer to develop and integrate medium- to high-complexity control systems for power generation, including aeroderivative gas turbines. You will lead or assist projects, collaborate with PMs, and create design documents and software that meet standards, requirements and WHS.
You will support commissioning and troubleshooting, mentor junior engineers, and explore emerging technologies to improve performance. Travel <15%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering accredited by Engineers Australia or equivalent.
- At least four (4) years’ experience in power generation controls.
- Proficiency with CAD and reading schematics/diagrams (PNID/FNID) and digital logic.
- Experience with industrial controls programming and protocols such as Modbus and OPC.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate medium- to high-complexity control systems for power generation, including aeroderivative gas turbines.
- Assist or lead projects and collaborate across functions, especially with project managers.
- Develop design documents and software ensuring compliance with standards, project requirements and WHS obligations.
- Support commissioning and operational troubleshooting and mentor junior engineers.
- Investigate emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability.
