Job summary

Woodward, Inc. (Sydney Branch) seeks an experienced engineer to develop and integrate medium- to high-complexity control systems for power generation, including aeroderivative gas turbines.

You will lead projects, collaborate with PMs, and craft design documents and software that meet standards and WHS obligations. The role requires 4+ years in power generation controls, CAD proficiency, and experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, EGD, OPC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering accredited by Engineers Australia.
• At least four (4) years’ experience in power generation controls.
• Proficiency in CAD (computer aided drafting).
• Proficiency at reading schematics and diagrams (PNID/FNID, etc) and digital logic.
• Experience with industrial controls programming
• Experience with industrial communications protocols, such as Modbus, EGD, OPC
• Own transportation
• Rights to work in Australia

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate medium- to high-complexity control systems for power generation (aeroderivative gas turbines).
• Assist or lead projects, collaborating with PMs and cross-functional teams.
• Develop design documents and software aligned to standards, requirements, and WHS obligations.
• Support commissioning and operational troubleshooting; mentor junior engineers.
• Investigate emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability.
