Job summary

BG&E, part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking a seasoned structural engineer to support temporary works from concept through delivery. You will lead design and documentation of temporary works, advise on construction sequencing, and provide technical oversight on projects in Australia.

You bring 7–15 years of experience, proficiency in Australian standards, and strong collaboration with site teams and contractors to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 7–15 years of structural engineering experience with emphasis on temporary works.
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles.
• Strong communication and coordination with site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of temporary works including formwork, falsework, shoring, propping, crane bases, and access platforms.
• Develop construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractors.
• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety and constructability.
• Assess the behaviour of materials under construction-stage conditions.
• Prepare and review temporary works designs and calculations.
• Conduct site visits to perform inspections and provide engineering guidance.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions.
• Prepare tendering materials and support winning of work.
• Liaise with clients and authorities for project delivery.
