Job summary

BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA group, seeks a seasoned Structural Engineer focused on temporary works and construction engineering. You will support design, analysis and documentation from concept through delivery while ensuring safety and compliance on Australian standards.

You will collaborate with project teams across Adelaide and other office locations to deliver practical, buildable solutions. A hands-on, proactive approach and strong client relationships are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7–15 years of experience in structural engineering, with focus on temporary works.
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles.
• Proficient in structural analysis software and clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of temporary works (formwork, shoring, propping, crane bases, access platforms).
• Develop construction methodologies and sequencing plans with site teams and contractors.
• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design for safety, compliance, and constructability.
• Review reports, drawings and calculations for quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions.
